Aigner continues to dominate: ÖSV eagles celebrate two one-two finishes

Austria's ski jumpers continue their successful run in the Continental Cup. After a strong start at the home weekend in Stams, the ÖSV eagles now also dominate in Hinterzarten.

Once again, Clemens Aigner is in the spotlight. The 33-year-old Tyrolean wins both competitions on the normal hill (HS109), further extending his lead in the overall standings.

Aigner leaves the competition no chance

Already on Saturday, Aigner was in a league of his own. The veteran landed at the maximum distance in both rounds and prevailed over his compatriot Simon Steinberger by more than 16 points. Local hero Ben Bayer completed the podium in third place.

Behind him, four more Austrians followed in places four to seven: Lukas Haagen, Raffael Zimmermann, Julijan Smid, and Markus Müller. Only Bayer prevented an ÖSV six-fold victory, with all seven Austrians finishing in the top ten.

On Sunday, Aigner added another triumph. This time, the Tyrolean won by 20 points ahead of his compatriot Raffael Zimmermann. Bayer (GER) once again finished in third place, once again preventing an ÖSV six-fold victory.

Aigner with a 145-point lead

With his two victories in Hinterzarten, Aigner now holds the maximum of 400 points and leads the Continental Cup overall standings by a large margin. Zimmermann, with 255 points, is already 145 points behind.

Next weekend, two more competitions will take place in Klingenthal, Germany.
