Second-Best Scorer: Salzburg Forward Joins KAC
The 33-year-old Canadian actually impressed last year but did not receive a new contract. Next season he will play in Klagenfurt.
Travis St. Denis is the KAC's fourth new signing.
The 33-year-old Canadian played for EC Red Bull Salzburg last season. For the quarter-finalists, the forward scored 45 points (21 goals, 24 assists) in 51 games; only Michael Raffl (55 points) had more points on the team's internal scoring list.
However, the Red Bulls did not offer the long-serving German league veteran a new contract. St. Denis will join the Rotjacken for one year for now.
The Goal is the Championship Title
"When the opportunity arose to join EC-KAC, it immediately felt like a great fit for me and my family. A club with such a rich tradition and a culture of success is something I very much wanted to be a part of," says St. Denis.
"The information I gathered about the organization and the city was all positive, and I already know the great crowd from last season when I was an opponent. Training camp starts in just a few weeks, so I'm looking forward to meeting my new teammates soon and hope that together we can have a successful year."
The Canadian promises: "I will give my best every day and put my experience and skills at the service of our group. My goal is to win the championship, which is what you always expect from such a club. Together with my family, I look forward to starting this new chapter in Klagenfurt."
Gritty Playing Style
Head Coach Kirk Furey is pleased about the signing of the next building block for a successful Rotjacken season 2026/27: "Travis St. Denis brings a wealth of experience from ten professional seasons in North America and Europe to our team."
Furey adds: "He has consistently proven in various good leagues that he can make significant contributions offensively. His playing style is gritty; he is a smaller forward but usually plays very aggressively, doesn't take much guff, and always stands up for himself and his team."
"The energy he brings to the ice fits well with our squad and our way of playing hockey, so we look forward to working with him," said the former defenseman.
