New striker for promoted side Lustenau
The Green-Whites strengthen their squad with an attacking player from neighbouring Switzerland.
Promoted side SC Austria Lustenau announces the signing of striker Antonio Verinac.
The club announced this on Wednesday evening. The 21-year-old forward joins on loan from FC St. Gallen until the end of the season.
The German-Croatian dual national began his career at Lok Leipzig, moving to 1. FC Köln's second team via SSV Jeddeloh II.
In the 2024/25 season, Verinac scored 26 goals in 29 games for ETSV Hamburg in the Oberliga, also providing ten assists. After scoring twelve goals in autumn 2025 for VfB Lübeck (Regionalliga), he moved to FC St. Gallen in winter 2026.
He made three appearances in the Swiss Super League and scored six goals in seven games for the second team.
"I want to play as much as possible"
"I definitely wanted to seize the opportunity that presented itself here," says Verinac about the move to Lustenau. "The officials and the club itself seem extremely welcoming and family-like. Furthermore, I don't live far from Lustenau. The facilities, the stadium, and the fans were additional factors for my move. Even though I'm only on loan for one season, I want to play as much as possible and help the club stay in the Bundesliga."
