Kühbauer now only assistant coach at Mattersburg - MSV legend takes over
Promotion coach Josef Kühbauer will serve as assistant coach next season. Alois Höller, a club legend from the predecessor club, takes over.
After being promoted, Mattersburger SV 2020 will play in the Regionalliga Ost next season.
Nevertheless, there is a change at the top. After four successful years with three promotions, successful coach Josef Kühbauer is no longer head coach and will act as assistant coach immediately.
Kühbauer Lacks the A-License
Club legend Alois Höller takes over the position. He once made 329 appearances for the predecessor club SV Mattersburg, 239 of which were in the Austrian Bundesliga.
He also played for MSV 2020 as a player since 2023. The coaching change likely also has something to do with Kühbauer's missing license. According to his ÖFB profile, the brother of the LASK coach only holds the UEFA B License.
Alois Höller holds the required UEFA A License and was Josef Kühbauer's assistant coach last season.
