New Assistant Coach brings even more NHL experience to Graz

The Graz99ers introduce Darryl Williams as their new Assistant Coach.

The 58-year-old Canadian takes over the position from Nate DiCasmirro, who surprisingly left the reigning champions in July for a head coach job with the Wheeling Nailers in the ECHL.

14 Years in the NHL

Williams brings a wealth of NHL experience.

The former winger served as Video Coach for six years with the Vancouver Canucks, followed by four years each as Assistant Coach with the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers.

Together with champion coach Dan Lacroix, there are now a total of 25 years of NHL experience behind the Graz bench.

Williams says: "It's a great honor for me, and I'm very much looking forward to joining last season's champions."

Lacroix adds: "We are very fortunate that such an experienced coach as Darryl has joined us. Both our players and the coaching staff will benefit from his expertise, personality, and experience."

And Sports Director Philipp Pinter comments: "Not only his experience at the highest level will advance us as a team and organization, but above all his passion for coaching and his great character. He has a very, very good reputation."
