Poor Performance! Salzburg Falls to Bozen Again

EC Red Bull Salzburg suffered a clear 1:4 home defeat against HC Bozen in the sixth round of the win2day ICE Hockey League.

The South Tyroleans controlled the game quite early with extensive puck possession. Consequently, HCB celebrated taking the lead.

Matt Bradley scored an unstoppable one-timer for a 1-0 lead (10th minute/PP).

Bozen Extends Lead Before First Intermission

Just two minutes later, Bozen extended their lead.

Brad McClure slotted the puck into the net after Salzburg lost possession in the neutral zone (13th minute). Salzburg only became more active offensively after the first intermission.

The Foxes created better scoring chances, but David Kickert in the Salzburg net was not to be beaten again, for now.

Salzburg Mounts Comeback, But Bozen Responds Strongly

Bozen started the third period too passively and was punished for it. Peter Schneider scored with a wrist shot into the far corner on the power play to make it 1-2 (52nd minute/PP). But Bozen showed the decisive reaction.

First, Daniel Mantenuto scored with a backhand for a 3-1 lead (59th minute), before Dustin Gazley sealed the South Tyroleans' 4-1 success in Salzburg with an empty-net goal (60th minute/EN).

Thus, the second season duel also went to the Foxes, who occupy third place with 13 points. EC Red Bull Salzburg is only in twelfth place with four points.
