Ibrahimovic slams England star: "Just walking around"
The Swede heavily criticizes a "Three Lions" attacker. He also failed to impress in the World Cup quarter-final against Norway.
England are in the World Cup semi-finals after a 2-1 extra-time victory over Norway.
Despite the success, TV pundit Zlatan Ibrahimović was unimpressed by the "Three Lions"' performance – with one player in particular drawing the Swede's criticism.
The TV pundit for US broadcaster "Fox Sports" targeted Noni Madueke at half-time of the World Cup quarter-final. The winger, who surprisingly got the nod over Arsenal star Bukayo Saka, failed to convince Ibrahimović.
Saka initially had to settle for a place on the bench, while Madueke started on the right flank. The substitution eventually took place at half-time.
"England are playing with one man less"
"I get the impression they are playing with one man less as long as Madueke is on the pitch," criticized the former world-class striker. "Every time he gets the ball, he makes the wrong decision. And he's just walking around on the pitch," he added.
"Not even the water break helped him. He plays, but he doesn't participate in the game. England are a man down," said the 44-year-old.
Madueke featured in five out of six matches at the 2026 World Cup, starting four times. The 24-year-old has not yet registered a goal or assist.
