Spain are European Champions! ÖFB's conquerors miss out
The Women's European Championship final in this youth category also ended as close as the semi-final against the ÖFB U19 – this time with a worse outcome for the DFB.
U19 women's football in Europe remains firmly in Spanish hands.
For the fifth time in five years and the eighth time overall, Spain are European champions in this age group. They secured a 1-0 victory in the final against Germany in Sarajevo.
The winning goal was scored by Irune Dorado of Real Madrid.
The ÖFB team was eliminated in the semi-finals by Germany 0-1 after extra time, but qualifying for the knockout round was a historic first.
