Women's Bundesliga: Red Bull Salzburg remains flawless

Red Bull Salzburg's start to the ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga season remains flawless. The Salzburg women won 2-0 against Blau Weiß Linz/Kleinmünchen on the second matchday.

They carried the momentum from the first round into the match and set the course for victory in the first half. The Salzburg women controlled the game and scored a deserved opening goal. In the 37th minute, Lena Triendl played a pass into the path of Katja Wienerroither, who only had to tap it in.

Triendl had the chance to seal the deal in the second half. However, she unluckily failed to find the net (54').

The decisive moment came in the 66th minute. A low shot from a tight angle was cleared off the line by BW Linz player Jana Rauch. However, Emelie Kobler pounced on the rebound to make it 2-0.

The joy, however, was somewhat dampened. After just 14 minutes, Tirol native Greta Spinn twisted her ankle and had to be substituted due to injury, supported by staff. A serious injury is feared.

Vienna once again with a draw

At the Hohe Warte, the Döbling women initially lived up to their role as favorites. In the 38th minute, Claudia Wasser scored to make it 1-0. The teams went into halftime with this score.

In the second half, Südburgenland became more active again. Hannah Maurer (65') scored the deserved equalizer just four minutes after her substitution.

Vienna's Helena Milanovic also had a chance to regain the lead in the 70th minute, shortly after her substitution. However, the ball bounced off the crossbar and out of play.

In the final phase, both teams created a series of chances. Defensive uncertainties were particularly evident from set pieces. However, no further goals were scored, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
