Newly promoted ASK Voitsberg secures their first victory of the new ADMIRAL 2. Liga season on Saturday. The Styrian side wins the second-round away game against SK Rapid II with a score of 3:1.

However, the young Hütteldorfers had a great chance to take the lead after just ten seconds. Following a misplaced backpass to Voitsberg keeper Filip Dmitrovic, the hosts failed to capitalize on the prime opportunity.

Practically on the counter-attack, Voitsberg took a 1-0 lead. After a cross from Paolo Jager, Fabian Schubert put the ball into the net on the rebound (1'). The 31-year-old had already scored on the first matchday in the 1-1 draw against SKU Amstetten.

The promoted side was significantly more dangerous offensively in the early stages than Rapid, and after 20 minutes, Voitsberg made it 2-0. This time, goalscorer Schubert broke through on the right wing and set up Jager in the middle, who tapped it in (21').

Two Goals in the Closing Stages

Rapid's Daris Djezic then had a chance to pull one back, but his shot was blocked (22'). Dmitrovic was on hand to save Ensar Music's effort (31'). The young Hütteldorfers showed offensive intent but didn't truly become dangerous.

For the second half, Rapid II coach Jürgen Kerber brought on three new players. However, clear-cut chances were long in coming.

Only in the closing stages were there promising goalmouth scenes again. Substitute Martin Krienzer sent his direct shot just over the bar (81').

The game then became exciting again - but only briefly. Because after Rapid's Erik Stehrer scored to make it 2-1 (84'), Voitsberg's super-sub Christopher Wölbl restored the two-goal lead with his goal for 3-1 (88'). The 17-year-old scored six minutes after coming on.

In the end, it remained 3-1, as Dmitrovic reacted strongly to another Rapid chance in stoppage time (90'+3).

For Rapid II, this marked their first LigaZwa defeat of the new season after their 1-0 victory against Admira. Promoted Voitsberg secured three points for the first time.
