Well-deserved win! Blau-Weiß Linz rejoices in top clash against Wacker
The Linzers show the harmless Tyroleans their limits and can celebrate a deserved success.
Second win for Blau-Weiß Linz!
The Linzers celebrate a 3-0 home victory over Wacker Innsbruck in the IMMOunited top clash of the second round of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga.
The Linzers were clearly more effective in attack from the start. Consequently, Köllner's side can also celebrate taking the lead.
Dario Kreiker gave the home side the lead with a deflected shot from about 13 meters into the far right corner (37'). Before halftime, the Upper Austrians could also celebrate again.
Fabio Strauss then extended the lead to a 2-0 halftime advantage with a powerful shot from the edge of the box (45'+1).
Linzers Clearly More Effective After the Break Too
After the break, the Linzers probably left more possession to the Tyroleans. However, Wacker quite clearly lacked accuracy in their passing game.
Finally, Nico Grimbs sealed the 3-0 final score despite a controversial assist from Frieser via handball (79'). Furthermore, Florian Kopp also received a red card in stoppage time for denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity against Jacob Collmann.
Thus, after their 3-0 success against the Young Violets, the Linzers can also celebrate against the Tyroleans. Wacker, on the other hand, as a promoted team, has to accept their first setback.
