A perfect points tally and a goal difference of 6:0 after two matches consequently ensures satisfied faces among the Linzers.

However, it is, of course, still a long way back to the top flight.

BWL Goalscorer Strauss: "It was really fun"

Particularly the efficiency in attack, with two crucial goals before halftime, was decisive for the win in the first home game of the new season.

"It was a very good performance from us and it was really fun," said Fabio Strauss, the scorer of the 2-0 goal for Köllner's team.

Naturally, BW-Linz coach Michael Köllner is also very satisfied. "We pushed forward well and are, of course, extremely satisfied," explained the German in an "ORF" interview after the match.

Only the performance after halftime should be viewed somewhat critically. At times, the Linzers did not execute their counter-attacking opportunities well and therefore had to wait until the 79th minute and Nico Grimbs' 3-0 goal to seal the win.

Wacker Coach Siller: "We paid the price for that"

Among the Tyroleans, the mood is, of course, somewhat subdued. As a promoted team, Wacker couldn't carry the momentum from their clear 5-0 opening win against Bregenz and suffered their first setback.

Not only was accuracy lacking in their passing, but individual defensive errors also occurred.

"We cannot make these mistakes in this league. We paid the price for that today," acknowledged Wacker coach Sebastian Siller.
