It was an international break to forget for Turkey.

Against France, Belgium, and Italy (two matches), there were four defeats in UEFA Nations League A.

Following the poor results, national team coach Vincenzo Montella is reportedly facing dismissal.

Meanwhile, reports about his possible successor have already emerged. According to "Milliyet", Shakhtar coach Arda Turan is expected to manage the team in November. The 39-year-old is reportedly set to take on coaching the Turkish national team for the upcoming training camp alongside his job in Ukraine.

100 International Caps

Turan earned 100 international caps for Turkey, playing for clubs such as Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, and Galatasaray.

He has been active as a head coach in Ukraine since 2025, winning the championship there in 2025/26. Before that, he led Eyüpspor to the second-division title in Turkey in 2023/24.
