Weinhandl Receives Special Recognition from the Guardian
The U17 Vice World Champion is listed by the British media outlet as one of the best talents of his age group. A Salzburg gem is also on the list.
Luca Weinhandl also enjoys an excellent reputation abroad.
"The Guardian" has dedicated a section called "Next Generation 2026" to the best talents born in 2009, excluding those from the Premier League.
The midfield youngster from SK Sturm Graz also features in the list. He is described there as "tall, strong, and good in duels, but also highly technically gifted." Furthermore, his strong performances at the U17 World Cup were highlighted.
A talent from FC Red Bull Salzburg has also made it onto the list: Miha Matjasec. However, the British media outlet struggled with his exact positional description: "A tireless, dynamic midfielder, a creative hybrid of a number eight and a number ten, or a left winger? What exactly is Miha Matjasec? That's not so easy to say at the moment."
The daily newspaper highlights "his impressive physique, coupled with technical finesse and leadership qualities" as his strengths.
Weinhandl Ranks Second in Market Value
In total, the list comprises 60 talents. Talents from absolute top clubs are also represented, including Matous Srb and Cassiano Kiala (FC Bayern München), David Boly (Paris Saint-Germain), Destiny Elimoghale (Juventus Turin), Abdellah Ouazane and Mohamed Abdalla (Ajax), Tiago Rodrigues (Benfica), Eduardo Corlat (Real Madrid), Jorge Domínguez (Atlético Madrid), and Jordi Pesquer (FC Barcelona).
Kennet Eichhorn from Bayer Leverkusen has the highest market value among the mentioned talents (30 million), followed by Luca Weinhandl (15 million).
