The young Pole also had offers from bigger clubs in the summer. However, FC Red Bull Salzburg had the more convincing arguments.

Bartosz Mazurek is considered one of the hottest transfer prospects in Polish football.

However, the move to the ADMIRAL Bundesliga caused bewilderment, also because significantly more renowned addresses such as Benfica Lisbon were said to have shown strong interest in the 19-year-old midfielder in the summer.

But the move has fully paid off for Mazurek so far. Within a very short time, he secured a regular spot with the "Bullen" (Bulls) and thus recommended himself for a nomination to his country's U21 squad. In his debut in the European Championship qualifiers against the Swedish U21 national team, he immediately shone with two goals.

During the international break, Mazurek spoke about the reasons for his move to FC Red Bull Salzburg. "I was definitely not 100 percent sure if I should go. I also didn't have a strong urge to leave. I just told myself that we would consider an interesting offer. Salzburg then convinced me of the project pretty quickly," the 19-year-old explained in an interview with the Polish medium "WP SportoweFakty".

Mazurek: "Certainly not a leap into the unknown"

He was reportedly particularly impressed that the "Bullen" had been following his development since the U19 level. "The first contact happened before the game against Fiorentina, which means they didn't act impulsively after a single game. What impressed me most was that they first scouted me in the Central Youth League, with the U19s. That shows the enthusiasm with which their scouting department works," said the Polish U21 international.

Also due to the fact that FC Red Bull Salzburg has often proven to be a stepping stone to an absolute top club, Mazurek had a good feeling from the start: "I felt that this was a good decision and it certainly wouldn't be a leap into the unknown. Anyone interested in football knows how this club works - they sign young players, develop them, and sell them to the biggest clubs."

It is quite possible that the 19-year-old Pole will be the next player to move to an absolute top club for a multi-million fee.

For Mazurek and Co., however, the league routine is back on the agenda for now. On Saturday (from 5:00 PM in the LIVE ticker >>>), the "Bullen" will be guests at GAK.
