Dominik Schmid (28) moved from FC Basel to FC Red Bull Salzburg in the summer. The left-back immediately established himself in the 'City of Mozart' and impressed.

However, it still wasn't enough for a nomination to the Swiss national team. Schmid is disappointed about this. "In my opinion, I would have deserved to be part of this squad," he told "Blick".

No Contact with the Head Coach

The Nati (national team) is a "difficult topic." Schmid tries not to dwell on it anymore.

Schmid was already in the squad in 2023 but never got to play. In 2024, he withdrew due to injury, and since then, there has been no contact with head coach Murat Yakin.

Former Salzburg player Noah Okafor is also not a big fan of the Swiss coach. The striker has resigned from the team as long as Yakin remains in office. >>>
