Dutch FA Hands Teenager 5-Year Stadium Ban
The 13-year-old will not see the inside of a domestic football stadium again until he is an adult.
He caused a stir in the final phase of the Nations League match between the Netherlands and Germany (1-1) nearly three weeks ago: A 13-year-old Dutchman ran onto the pitch to take selfies with his idols.
This will now cost the teenager dearly: According to the Dutch Football Association (KNVB), he has been handed a nationwide five-year stadium ban. In addition, he has to pay a fine of 100 Euros.
Will the KNVB also prosecute the parents?
As severe as the sanction for the 13-year-old is, things could get even worse - namely for his parents.
According to Dutch media reports, the KNVB intends to hold them civilly liable for any damages, should UEFA sanction the association for the incident.
