Harry Kane crowns his outstanding season with the Ballon d'Or. In his emotional acceptance speech, the Englishman addresses special words to Bayern, his former club, and his family.
The entire hall cheered when Harry Kane was named the winner of the Ballon d'Or (to the results>>>).
The Englishman, who scored 61 goals for FC Bayern last season and secured the top scorer's title by a wide margin, unbelievably clasped his hands to his face.
His greatest rivals Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappe, and Michael Olise immediately congratulated him.
Thus, the Bayern striker crowns an outstanding season with the award for the best player in the world.
"An honor to bring this trophy to Munich"
"First of all, I'm speechless," Kane began his acceptance speech after winning the Ballon d'Or.
The Englishman also showed great respect for his competitors: "Given the great players I had to compete against, the decision was certainly very difficult."
A special thank you went to FC Bayern Munich, where Kane has developed further in recent years. "I have undoubtedly developed as a player, and I owe that to your leadership," explained the striker. "For me, it is an honor to bring this trophy to Munich."
"My story should serve as an inspiration to others"
The Englishman also did not forget his former club Tottenham Hotspur, where he spent 19 years. "Without Tottenham, I wouldn't be where I am today. All my coaches helped me realize this dream. I want to specifically thank all the coaches I've had throughout my career. Every single one was important in different phases of my development."
The 33-year-old also directed emotional words to his family and his wife, who have supported him throughout all these years.
Finally, Kane also wanted to encourage others with his own story: "You have to believe in yourself. My path was not straightforward. I have experienced many ups and downs and hope that my story can serve as an inspiration to others."
For a long time, Kane was considered the man without a title. It was not until 2025 that the Englishman, at the age of 31, was able to celebrate his first club title with FC Bayern Munich. Now he can call himself the best footballer in the world.
