Harry Kane Wins the 2026 Ballon d'Or

Harry Kane is the winner of the 2026 Ballon d'Or!

The French sports magazine "France Football" honored the 33-year-old at a gala in London with the coveted trophy for the world's best footballer. The "Golden Ball" was presented by Ronaldo, who won the award in 1997 and 2002.

Harry Kane secured the title with Bayern in 2025/26, becoming German champion and top scorer. He thus relegated Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal to second and third place.

Alexia Putellas secured the Ballon d'Or féminin, winning the prestigious award for the third time. The Spaniard moved to London City Lionesses in the summer after 14 years with FC Barcelona.

Spaniards Sweep the Awards

World Cup winner Luis de la Fuente was named Coach of the Year, dedicating the award to his team. The Spaniard prevailed over Luis Enrique, Unai Emery, Mikel Arteta, and Vincent Kompany.

Lamine Yamal was once again honored as the best young player. The 18-year-old, who received the trophy from Andriy Shevchenko, had already won the award in 2024 and 2025, thus securing it for the third consecutive time.

The women's award also goes to Barcelona. 19-year-old Vicky López wins the trophy for the second time.

Unai Simon is Best Goalkeeper

The best goalkeeper also comes from Spain. Unai Simón, who kept a clean sheet seven times at the World Cup, was honored with the award.

Cata Coll was named best female goalkeeper. The Spaniard thus wins one of a total of six FC Barcelona awards this evening.

How are the Winners Chosen?

An international jury of 100 journalists decides on the annual winner. This winner is selected from 30 candidates, who were previously chosen by a selection of French media and UEFA. Voting closed on September 28.

The focus is on the individual performances of the male and female players, along with titles won and fair play.
