Further Proceedings

The Spaniard also faces another court date. As "Atlántico Hoy" reports, the trial is scheduled for September 3rd, 4th, and 7th.

Asencio is accused along with three other former players from Real Madrid's youth academy. The focus is on the allegation of illegally recording and distributing videos with sexual content, which are said to have been taken in the south of Gran Canaria in 2023.

According to "Atlántico Hoy", Asencio is said to have neither participated in the sexual acts nor made the recordings himself. However, the public prosecutor's office accuses him of having forwarded one of the videos to a third person, even though he allegedly knew that the recordings were made without the consent of the young women. The incidents are said to have occurred in a hotel in Amadores.

According to "Atlántico Hoy", the public prosecutor's office is expected to demand a prison sentence of two and a half years for an alleged violation of privacy. At the same time, it is said to be considering the possibility of dropping the charges against Asencio should the player apologize to those affected during the trial. Asencio is presumed innocent.
