According to the Croatian sports newspaper "Sportske novosti", Basel has been interested in Bjelica for some time. There has reportedly been no contact yet, but negotiations are expected to begin soon.
Three games without a win
According to information from "Sportske novosti", assistant coach Luigi Nocentini will take over the interim duties until the international break. Before the league hiatus, Basel will face FC Luzern and FC St. Gallen.
Lichtsteiner had to leave after the team failed to secure a win in their last three league games (one draw, two losses). Currently, Daniliuc's club is in fifth place in the table. Basel also finished fifth last season, which is why the club is not playing internationally this year.
