Collapses during game: Ex-Chelsea talent dies
The 25-year-old suddenly collapsed and could not be saved by emergency services.
Portuguese football mourns Quevin Castro. He was only 25 years old.
The Portuguese-English dual national died on Saturday during a friendly match between his club Real SC and Estrela de Amadora.
Castro collapsed after just a few minutes of play; the medical staff of both teams immediately rushed to his aid, and a defibrillator was also used. Subsequently, the 25-year-old was taken to the hospital but could not be saved.
Once a Pro at West Bromwich
Castro moved to Chelsea at a young age, where he played for the second team and was able to impress enough to earn a professional contract with West Bromwich Albion.
Later, he played for several clubs in lower English leagues before joining Real SC in his Portuguese homeland this summer.
