Bayern Munich wins the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup!

The German champions beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 away. Musiala, who recently collapsed twice, is not available for Bayern.

Quiet Start Without Major Chances

The match begins with both teams feeling each other out. Bayern generally had more possession, but there were no real top chances for a long time.

The first notable event happens only in the 28th minute. Kimmich plays the ball to Olise. At the perfect moment, he lays it off to Brown. The new signing doesn't miss this opportunity. He scores his first goal for Bayern.

This seems to have been a wake-up call for the home team, as they also registered a good opportunity shortly after. Svensson gets a shot away unopposed but misses (32.). On the other side, Kobel saves his team from another goal (36.). He makes a save against Diaz.

Another Goal Shortly Before Halftime

Bayern are dominant but concede what appears to be an equalizer before halftime. Bensebaini converts after a free-kick, but he is offside.

Brown's shot also misses by a few centimeters shortly before halftime (43.). His teammate Olise does better, making it 2-0 before the halftime whistle (45.+1).

After the restart, Karetsas tests Neuer, but the keeper is alert and deflects the ball aside (52.). After a fine combination, Karetsas also fails to score (62.).

BVB Pull One Back

After several chances for BVB, the ball finally finds the net. Following an error in the build-up, the ball lands with the home team. Silva finishes, and Davies deflects it unstoppably past Neuer (75.).

Finally, Bensebaini receives a red card after a harsh foul on Saibar (90.). Olise and Beier get good chances for their teams again in stoppage time, but without success.

Despite launching a comeback, the home team could no longer turn the game around. Bayern win 2-1 and crown themselves Supercup winners.

For the visitors, Laimer plays the full match, while Sabitzer comes on for BVB in the 72nd minute. Former Salzburg player Gadou is on the field for the full 90 minutes.
