Friedl after advancing to second cup round: "We still have work to do"
Werder secures an unconvincing win against LSK Hansa, the ÖFB legionnaire still sees room for improvement.
Marco Friedl, Marco Grüll, and Alexander Schlager, with Werder Bremen, prevailed 3-0 against LSK Hansa in the first round of the DFB-Pokal.

The win was never in danger after goals from Stage (11th), Füllkrug (56th), and Reis (76th), but it was also unconvincing. Nevertheless, according to coach Thioune, they fulfilled their mandatory task.
Friedl names points of criticism
Captain Friedl is aware of the difficulties after the match: "In defensive transition, we did well and defended everything confidently. But with the ball, we were too slow, made too many mistakes, and only took the lead from a set piece," he analyzes.
They delivered a better performance in the second half, but he also criticizes the team's chance conversion. One thing is clear: "We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but for today, we fulfilled the task," the ÖFB player is quoted by the club.
The coach agrees with him in his analysis. They could have scored more goals, and the game tempo in the first half was too low.
Coach sees advantages in unconvincing victory
After the victory, Thioune remains realistic, stating: "Perhaps it's also good for us that we didn't play exceptionally well today."
For Werder, the league season begins on Sunday with an away match in Freiburg. It was essential that returnees Füllkrug and Reis were present. Both contributed a goal.
The former finds special words about his transfer after the match: "The last few days were incredibly emotional. I wasn't even aware how much I had missed this, but today in the stadium was incomparable," he concludes.
