ÖFB striker ends long goal drought in dominant victory

Arnel Jakupovic has ended his goal drought.
In NK Osijek's dominant 6-1 victory over promoted side Rudes in the second round of the Croatian HNL, the ÖFB striker scored his first goal since the end of February, or 13 games.
The 28-year-old initially sat on the bench and watched a dominant performance from his teammates. Leon (12th, 28th) and Omerovic (41st, 44th) each scored braces before halftime, ensuring a clear lead.
Goal Shortly After Substitution
In the 65th minute, Jakupovic entered the field and needed only four minutes to score for 5-0 (69th). His last goal had been on February 28 against eventual relegated side Vukovar.
In the closing stages, Omerovic completed his hat-trick (81st), while Ilecic scored the consolation goal for the home team from Zagreb (84th).
After a 2-0 victory in the season opener against HNK Gorica, Osijek is provisionally at the top of the table.
