Matthias Jaissle led Al-Ahli to the Asian Champions League title in the last two seasons.

His contract runs for only one more season. Accordingly, the club wants to extend his contract.

However, the process is proving difficult. Several Saudi media outlets are reporting this.

The club is insisting on a clause, according to which the contract, which runs until 2029, could be terminated for six months' salary.

Jaissle apparently not a fan of the clause

Jaissle reportedly does not like this at all, and the German has rejected the initial offer. According to the report, Jaissle's new three-year contract is said to be worth more than 150 million Saudi Riyals (approx. 35 million Euros). The club wants to secure this high sum.

Nevertheless, an agreement could still be reached. Jaissle is reportedly not averse to an extension. In 2029, Al-Ahli would participate in the FIFA Club World Cup.

In Saudi Arabia, Tyrolean Alexander Hauser is his assistant coach.
