Transfer confirmed! Elias Havel moves to Serie A
The 23-year-old leaves TSV Hartberg and signs a multi-year contract in Italy. A football legend is now his coach:
Striker Elias Havel is moving from Austrian Bundesliga club TSV Hartberg to Italian Serie A side Genoa. Genoa and Hartberg announced this on Friday.
After passing his medical, Havel received a "multi-year" contract with last season's 16th-placed team.
"Genoa is a great opportunity. I am very happy about the decision and will do everything I can to settle in as quickly as possible," the 23-year-old was quoted by his new club.
Now training under a legend
"Elias will bring speed and attacking strength to our squad, two qualities that are very important for our style of play," said Genoa sporting director Diego Lopez. Havel's new coach is former Roma legend Daniele De Rossi.
The transfer fee was not disclosed, but is rumored to be two to three million euros. The offensive player, who arrived in East Styria from LASK in 2024, had a release clause in his TSV contract.
"We are proud to be able to transfer a player from Hartberg to one of Europe's top 5 leagues. This once again shows that good performances pay off for us and that Hartberg is an excellent platform for talented players for their next career step," Hartberg chairman and CEO Erich Korherr is quoted as saying.
In Genoa, Havel will meet, among others, his compatriots Franz Stolz, who returned after his GAK stint, and David Puczka.
The ÖFB U21 national player had only recently moved from Juventus Turin for a transfer fee of six million euros to Genoa.
