Long-serving Italian national team striker Ciro Immobile will become the head of delegation for Italy's U16 national team. The FIGC federation announced this on Thursday.

"It's time to give back to football what it has given me over so many years of my career," said the 36-year-old, who scored 17 goals in 57 international matches.

"Working with the youngsters is a great opportunity for me: to get back into the game and, above all, to pass on my experiences on and off the pitch," Immobile said.

The U16 head coach is Giovanni Costantino. His squad will play a double-header of friendly matches against Spain next week.

Prolific Career

Immobile spent a large part of his career at Lazio (340 games, 207 goals). He also played for Borussia Dortmund and most recently for FC Paris.

He was crowned top scorer in Serie A four times and celebrated the European Championship title with Italy in 2021.
