Austrian Goalie Robbed in Leipzig!
The Austrian had a rough start off the pitch in Leipzig, as he reports.
Austrian goalkeeper Jonas Wendlinger (26) signed with German regional league club Lokomotive Leipzig in mid-September.
However, the former Ried goalkeeper did not have an ideal start off the pitch in his new home.
"I was in the hotel for two or three nights and had parked my car on the street. In the morning, when I went for breakfast, a hotel employee approached me, saying she thought my car had been broken into," he reports to the club podcast "Lokcast."
Backpack Stolen
Indeed, his window was smashed. "That wasn't great at eight in the morning and somehow strange. I still had two jackets in the car and sunglasses in the glove compartment. However, only the Lok backpack was stolen, which someone was apparently keen on. My Bose headphones were still inside. Otherwise, nothing is missing. So, if anyone wants to return it, feel free to do so."
Athletically, Wendlinger has settled in well in Leipzig, having recently featured in three league matches.
