There hasn't been much to smile about at TSV 1860 Munich lately. The Munich club was relegated to the Regionalliga due to forced relegation.

At least now there's a catchy name to take notice of. As can be read on Spielerplus on the Bavarian Football Association's website, Mathew Colins has been signed from Austria Salzburg.

The 21-year-old, who is the son of famous musician Phil Collins, moves to Giesing on a free transfer. He spent the last three years of his football career in Austria. Between 2023 and 2025, he played 51 times for the amateurs of WSG Tirol.

Four Second Division Matches in Austria

He spent the past season in the ADMIRAL 2. Liga with SV Austria Salzburg (four matches). Will a big professional career follow soon?

"I think it might be enough for the Regionalliga, but for higher up, in my opinion, it will be rather difficult," Austria coach Christian Schaider commented to "dieblaue24" back in mid-June.
