"Has it all": FC Bayern extends contract with defensive gem
The 17-year-old remains loyal to the German record champion. He made his professional debut last season.
FC Bayern has tied a defensive talent to the club long-term.
As the German record champion announced on Thursday, German junior international Cassiano Kiala has extended his contract at Säbener Straße long-term. The club did not provide details on the duration of the new agreement.
Kiala is considered one of the greatest talents from FC Bayern's own youth academy. In the current pre-season, the 17-year-old was part of Vincent Kompany's extended professional squad, who helped him make his professional debut in the German Bundesliga in December 2025.
Second-youngest Debutant After Wanner
This made Kiala, at 16 years and 344 days old, the second-youngest debutant after ÖFB national team player Paul Wanner. An injury in February 2026 prevented further appearances for the time being, but the Berlin native is expected to continue gaining professional experience next season.
"We have high hopes for Cassiano and want to continuously integrate him into our first team. He is the second-youngest debutant in the history of FC Bayern's professional squad, has already taken on responsibility as captain for the German U17 national team, and has everything it takes to make his way at FC Bayern. Last season he had bad luck with injuries – now we look forward to the next steps with him," said Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund.
