Adi Hütter still has a lot of work ahead of him regarding squad planning at Eintracht Frankfurt.

In an interview with "kicker", the Austrian coach spoke about the ongoing squad formation ahead of his return season with the "Eagles" – which is apparently proving more difficult than hoped.

Therefore, Hütter is apparently about to take unpopular measures.

"I'm not dissatisfied, because..."

As the former Monaco coach reveals, a "cut" is imminent for the team: "I don't like training with 28 or 30 outfield players. I want to work with the players we plan with. It's not pleasant for anyone if some players are then left over. But that's how it is everywhere."

However, the oversized squad does not mean that potential new signings could not still play a role in the transfer market.

"We know we still need to do something in defence. In midfield, we are already very well positioned. Raphael Onyedika will be fun for us, Noël Aséko, as a U21 international, is a typical Eintracht transfer with a lot of potential. Hugo Larsson, Oscar Højlund, Mario Götze and Farès Chaïbi also play in the centre. We are already over-represented there. In the number ten position, we have Can Uzun, Love Arrhov and Ritsu Doan. Perhaps we still need to strengthen upfront. But I am not dissatisfied, because I know that a lot will still happen."

Belgium Stars and WAC Loan Players to Leave

At least six – some of them well-known – players are said to have no future under Hütter. The striker trio Elye Wahi, Noel Futkeu, and Michy Batshuayi are to leave, and a sale is also being targeted for defenders Niels Nkounkou and Arthur Theate.

Midfield veteran Ellyes Shkiri and ex-WAC loan player Jessic Ngankam also have no future under Hütter.

Junior Dina Ebimbe, at least, was recently offloaded. Schalke 04, with coach-legionnaire Miron Muslic, bagged a bargain – the transfer fee for Ebimbe was reportedly only 800,000 Euros plus a sell-on clause.
