Michael Gregoritsch has made a successful start to the new Bundesliga season with FC Augsburg.

In the 3-0 victory against Schalke, the Austrian international scored the opening goal, making it 1-0 (to the match report >>>).

Muslic confident despite 0-3: "A good away game"

Gregoritsch now only needs one more goal to draw level with Augsburg's Bundesliga record goalscorer Alfred Finnbogason. The Icelander has 37 goals in an FCA jersey, while Gregoritsch now has 36.

"It would have been really nice if that had already happened today. Hopefully it comes as soon as possible. That is, of course, a goal of mine."

"It would have been possible"

The 32-year-old could have already had the chance for a brace against Schalke: "I think it would have been possible. The header – and once I play it across. Normally, I don't play it across."

The next chance for the goal record will be away against Hütter's club Eintracht Frankfurt. They want to confirm their good start to the season there. However, Gregoritsch wants to temper expectations before the clash:

"We know where we come from and didn't have many expenses this summer. We have the potential to reach levels where others are. But a Bundesliga season is long."
