Massive Achievement! Schalke keeps Bayern goalless
Miron Muslic's team is the first side since PSG over a year ago to keep a clean sheet against the Bavarians.
It felt like a win for Schalke!
On the second matchday of the German Bundesliga, FC Schalke 04 secured a 0-0 draw at home against FC Bayern Munich. Konrad Laimer played the full match for the record champions. For S04, Dejan Ljubicic (until the 74th minute) was in the starting eleven. Maximilian Wöber came into the game in the 74th minute, while Junior Adamu remained on the bench for 90 minutes.
For Schalke, it is their first point against Bayern since February 2017. Additionally, the Bavarians failed to score a goal of their own for the first time in 59 matches. The last time this happened was at the Club World Cup against Paris in July 2025.

Schalke shows fighting spirit
Muslic's team, on the other hand, threw themselves into every tackle – and successfully so. 61 percent of duels went to "Königsblau". This also meant that Bayern, with the exception of Luis Diaz, did not create any top chances. Thus, the teams went into the changing rooms at 0-0.
Kompany reacted at half-time, bringing on Harry Kane for Nathaniel Brown. However, Diaz (54.) missed the next good opportunity again. When Michael Olise and the returning Jamal Musiala also entered the game, the visitors' threat increased.
Initially, Gosens (58.) had a shot. Afterwards, Olise (59.) was thwarted by Karius. Attempts by Laimer (64.) and Diaz (68.) went wide or were blocked.
Karius' brilliant save against Kane
Already in the final fifteen minutes, Kompany's XI mostly camped in their attacking third.
However, Bayern still couldn't break through Schalke's well-organized defense. So Kane (86.) simply tried a long-range shot, but Loris Karius managed to get a hand to the powerful strike that was heading for the top corner.
And that was all Bayern could muster. Thus, Schalke earned a point against the record champions for the first time in almost ten years. And this was loudly celebrated in the stadium.
