SC Paderborn defeat TSG Hoffenheim 3-1 on the fourth matchday of the German Bundesliga.

Christian Ilzer's side starts without Austrian international Patrick Wimmer, who is substituted in the 62nd minute. Alexander Prass is not in the TSG squad.

Paderborn have the better first half. After a corner, Hoffenheim fail to clear effectively and are punished. Castenda fires from distance to make it 1-0 (29'). In the 42nd minute, Marino doubles the lead, converting a sharp cross from Curda for a 2-0 score.

Hoffenheim unlucky in the second half

Hoffenheim manage to get on the scoreboard in the second half. Salzburg attacker Adam Daghim pulls one back for the Kraichgau side, scoring in the 50th minute.

However, after a period of pressure from the visitors, it is Paderborn who score the next goal. Following a cross from substitute Sticker, Tigges heads in to make it 3-1 for the home team.

In the closing stages, TSG are unlucky. Conte curls a shot against the crossbar (83').

After four matchdays, coach Christian Ilzer's team are in 14th place with three points. Paderborn are in 12th place with one more point.
