BVB celebrates comfortable opening win against HSV
Two goals in the first half earn Dortmund their first three points of the new season.
Borussia Dortmund has successfully started the new Bundesliga season. The Black and Yellows won 2-0 at home against HSV on the first matchday.
Serhou Guirassy scored an early opener in the 9th minute, assisted by new signing Konstantinos Karetsas.
BVB remained on the front foot and extended their lead to 2-0 still in the first half. Second Greek new signing Giannis Konstantelias scored on his Bundesliga debut (45+1.).
HSV misses turnaround despite numerical advantage
In the second half, Konstantelias had to be substituted due to injury. Austrian international Marcel Sabitzer came on for him in the 54th minute.
Dortmund remained dominant, but HSV became more dangerous. In the 77th minute, BVB youngster Samuele Inacio was sent off with a red card for a harsh tackle, but HSV still failed to score.
Carney Chukwuemeka was not in the BVB squad due to injury.
