Thierry Tazemeta made his first start for 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the 2. Bundesliga – and justified the trust placed in him by coach Torsten Lieberknecht.

The 19-year-old Austrian forward once again entered the scoresheet in the 3-0 victory against Darmstadt on matchday 4 – for the second time this season.

Deflected Tazemeta Shot Finds the Net

After several missed chances on both sides, Mario Sauer provided the deserved lead just before halftime (43').

After the break, Lautern pushed for a decisive goal. Tazemeta narrowly missed earlier (58'), before finally getting to celebrate in the 64th minute: After a throw-in, Darmstadt failed to clear the ball from the penalty area, and Tazemeta struck it on the volley. His shot was deflected twice and eventually trickled over the line.

For the attacker, it was already his second goal of the season, following his debut goal last week. Former Salzburg player Mergim Berisha added the third goal in stoppage time (90+6').

Standing Ovations for Austrian Youngster

Tazemeta, who remained on the field until the 85th minute, once again delivered a strong performance. With seven successful dribbles, he recorded the highest figure of the match and became the ultimate match-winner with his goal.

Upon his substitution, the Lautern fans bid him farewell with standing ovations.

Wolfsburg Squanders Victory Against Cottbus

VfL Wolfsburg drew 4-4 in a crazy match against Energie Cottbus.

Robert Glatzel gave the hosts an early lead from the penalty spot in the fourth minute and followed up with a chip in the 34th minute. In between, Vini Souza (25') scored to make it a seemingly comfortable 3-0.

However, Cottbus refused to give up. Luca Erlein (45+4'), King Manu (50'), and former Wolfsburg player Tolcay Cigerci from the penalty spot (67') actually equalized the match.

Mattias Svanberg redeemed the "Wolves" with a spectacular solo goal to make it 4-3 (79'), but Cottbus came back again and Bogdanov scored the 4-4 equalizer in stoppage time (90+1'). Austrian goalkeeper Pavao Pervan remained on the bench for Wolfsburg for the entire match.

Nürnberg Remains League Leaders

1. FC Nürnberg dropped points for the first time with a 2-2 draw at Holstein Kiel but remains at the top of the table.

Adam Markhiev gave the "Club" the lead with a long-range shot just before halftime (41'), and Phil Harres equalized before the break (45+1').

Adrian Kapralik turned the game in favor of Kiel shortly after the restart (50'), before Piet Scobel equalized for Nürnberg just six minutes later.

After four rounds, Nürnberg has ten points and remains league leaders ahead of Hertha BSC with nine points and Wolfsburg with eight points. Kaiserslautern is in fourth place, also with eight points.

Cottbus jumped to tenth place (four points) thanks to the last-minute comeback in Wolfsburg. Kiel now has three points and is 15th, while Darmstadt remains at the bottom with just one point.
