In the sixth round of the 2. Bundesliga, Hertha BSC defeats Dynamo Dresden 2-1.

Austrian international Oluwaseun Adewumi plays for Berlin's Hertha until the 73rd minute.

Dynamo Dresden takes the lead with practically the first action of the game. Starting debutant Covic initiates the goal himself, gets the ball again at the edge of the box after a pass from Vermeij, and smashes it into the bottom right corner (10'). Gersbeck looked unconvincing in the Hertha goal.

Equalizer out of nowhere

Hertha's equalizer for 1-1 came completely against the run of play. Thorsteinsson shoots from about 20 meters after a pass from Brekalo; the ball is slightly deflected and finds the bottom left corner of the net (29').

Before halftime, Adewumi has two more chances to make it 2-1, but his shots are either blocked or saved by Schreiber.

Adewumi scores disallowed 2-1

This is probably the biggest missed chance of the current season. Adewumi breaks through on the flank and runs to the five-meter box. There, the attacking player lays it across, and Nilsson manages to scoop the ball over the empty net from four meters.

Adewumi becomes dangerous again immediately afterwards. The Austrian gem scores in the 58th minute to make it 2-1, but the goal is disallowed because Adewumi headed the ball onto his own hand.

Hertha is closer to scoring the 2-1, but still lacks the decisive ideas in the final third.

Thorsteinsson bags a brace

What a goal to make it 2-1! On the left flank, full-back Pedersen surges through and lays it off to Thorsteinsson in the middle. From just under 18 meters, the Icelander bravely unleashes a shot. The ball flies into the top right corner (80').

Adewumi puts in a strong performance and is substituted in the 73rd minute.

Hertha thus remains at the top of the table with six wins from six games. Dynamo remains in the bottom of the table in second-to-last place.
