"Veteran" Giroud inflicts last-minute defeat on Lens and Baidoo

RC Lens suffered a last-minute defeat away to OSC Lille on Matchday 9 of Ligue 1.

"Les Sang et Or" held a goalless draw until the 86th minute, before Olivier Giroud secured the hosts' well-deserved winning goal. The 40-year-old forward had only been substituted in 13 minutes earlier.

Baidoo plays full match for the second time in a row

Austrian international Samson Baidoo played the full 90 minutes for Lens. After the central defender missed the start of the season due to injury, this was only the fourth league game for the former Salzburg player, and his second consecutive full match.

With the win, Lille keeps pace with league leaders PSG, who had previously won convincingly away to Le Havre (to the match report >>>). With the defeat, Lens now sits only in eighth place, with a one-point lead over Marseille and Lorient, who, however, have played one game fewer.
