GAK at a loss after Hartberg defeat: "Very, very embarrassing"
Disappointment runs deep after the heavy defeat against Hartberg. Players are self-critical and demand more responsibility on the pitch.
Things are currently far from smooth for GAK!
Since the derby defeat against SK Sturm, Gerald Scheiblehner's team has been searching for its form. The resounding 0-4 against TSV Hartberg now causes further disillusionment.
"Everyone Must Take Responsibility"
After the defeat against Hartberg, the players appear increasingly desperate and at a loss. "We talk a lot, but we don't put it on the pitch," says goalkeeper Cican Stankovic after the match in an interview with "Sky".
The keeper, who has already conceded 27 goals, describes his team's current performance as "very, very embarrassing for the Bundesliga."
Furthermore, Stankovic issues a clear appeal to his teammates: "Everyone who is on the pitch should be a leader. Everyone must take responsibility!"
"Abysmal Performance"
Captain Peter Michorl also finds clear words after the disappointing performance: "If you perform like we did today, then we will lose many, many games."
At the same time, the 31-year-old demands unity: "We must find a way to get through this together!" Michorl is particularly at a loss because the team had actually set out to achieve a lot for the duel with Hartberg after their cup exit against Altach.
His conclusion is accordingly clear: He describes the performance as an "abysmal performance."
"It's Up To Me To Change Things"
Coach Gerald Scheiblehner is also dissatisfied with his team's performance. "We had confidence in a game plan that we currently cannot execute," says the 49-year-old.
The Upper Austrian takes responsibility himself and sees it as his task to bring about changes: "It is up to me not only to recognize things but also to change them."
