Fourth season win for SKN St. Pölten!

Coach Cem Sekerlioglu's club celebrates a 2-1 home victory in the 11th round of the ADMIRAL 2. Liga in their home NV-Arena against FC Hertha Wels.

With their first win since the extensive international break, SKN jumps to eighth place in the table, while the UNIQA ÖFB-Cup quarter-finalists suffer another setback in the league. ADMIRAL 2. Liga Table >>>

Strong Start

The hosts get off to a lightning start in the NV-Arena: Mane receives the ball perfectly from David into his run, and the attacking player curls the shot with the outside of his foot into the far corner (7').

Even after that, SKN remains the dominant team. A little less than fifteen minutes later, they are rewarded for it: Kolodziejczyk impressively hammers the ball from distance into the top corner for 2-0 (23').

They go into halftime with a comfortable lead.

Goal Back

The second half sees an open game; the visitors from Wels are not giving up and also get their chances to pull a goal back. Drammeh misses the best opportunity, as the attacker only heads the ball at goalkeeper Knett (60').

However, after a Wernitznig corner, it finally happens: Mankam stands completely free at the far post, and an SKN defender unluckily deflects the ball into his own net (71').

Just a few seconds later, the goalscorer even has the equalizer at his feet, but Knett makes a strong save (73'). Shortly before the end, Amoah misses the chance to seal the win for St. Pölten (90'+2).

In the end, it remains 2-1, and thus SKN celebrates the three points in front of their home crowd.
