It had already been announced in recent days, and now it's official: Felix Bacher is moving to Olympique Lyon.

For 4.3 million euros, the Tyrolean moves from Estoril Praia in Portugal to the traditional French club. Bacher will play under a contract until 2031 in Lyon.

Bacher played for Estoril for a total of two years. In 2024, he moved from WSG Tirol to Portugal. During those two years, the 25-year-old made 58 appearances and was an absolute regular starter.

"I like to take responsibility"

In Lyon, the central defender is the first Austrian ever. However, he will link up with former Salzburg captain Mads Bidstrup and former Altach player Mohamed Ouedraogo there. Both moved from Austria to "OL" this summer.

At his presentation in Lyon, he said: "This is a great moment for me and my family. I am very grateful to have signed with Olympique Lyon."

"I hope we will all experience many great moments this season, and I can't wait to play for this club and its fans. I am ambitious, I like to take responsibility in the team, and I always give 100 percent on the pitch," Bacher added.
