Surprising Exit? Matthias Jaissle Likely Top Candidate in England
Matthias Jaissle is considered the top option to replace the head coach of the Premier League club.
Newcastle United could surprisingly part ways with head coach Eddie Howe (48) shortly before the start of the season.
This is according to transfer journalists David Ornstein (The Athletic) and Fabrizio Romano. The Englishman is reportedly set to leave the Premier League club, which is owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), after five years.
The "Magpies" are said to have already agreed on a top candidate to succeed Howe: Matthias Jaissle (38). The former Salzburg coach is currently still under contract with Al-Ahli, but is reportedly already in advanced talks with Newcastle.

With the Saudi club, the German won the Asian Champions League twice.
The Saudi Arabian state fund is also involved with Al-Ahli; the PIF owns 75 percent of the club.
Jaissle has been working in Saudi Arabia since 2023. Before that, he spent two years on the sidelines at FC Red Bull Salzburg. With the "Bulls," he won the league title twice and the cup once.
