David Affengruber and Fulham FC have registered their first points in the Premier League after four matchdays.

In the 0-0 draw against Liverpool FC, the London club surprisingly secured an away point on Saturday (to the match report >>>). The 25-year-old Austrian international also played a significant part in the goalless draw.

The centre-back, who only transferred from Elche to London for twelve million Euros on Deadline Day, immediately featured in the starting eleven and made his first competitive appearance for Fulham.

"We performed as a team"

After his debut, Affengruber expressed his satisfaction. "I feel very good, but tired. It was a tough game," the Austrian international said after the match.

Above all, the cohesive team performance made the point possible: "I think we did an excellent job today. Every single one of us. We performed as a team. That's how you get points in away games against tough opponents like Liverpool."

Considering the strong performance, could more than one point have been possible? "I think we'll take the point, especially away at Liverpool," Affengruber said. At the same time, he urged them to build on this performance: "We have to keep working now."

Arbeloa proud of his team

Fulham coach Alvaro Arbeloa was also pleased after securing the first point of the season. "I am so happy and so proud of my players," said the Spaniard.

He particularly liked his team's attitude. "Especially how they played, with that character. They were ambitious and I liked that."

However, Fulham won't have much time to catch their breath. Their next challenge awaits on Tuesday in the EFL Cup: The "Cottagers" will visit second-tier side West Ham United (8:45 PM in the LIVE ticker).
