First Win of the Season! Glasner's Nottingham Defeats Aston Villa
Oliver Glasner and Nottingham Forest beat Aston Villa on the 4th Premier League matchday. Promoted side Hull makes another statement.
Oliver Glasner and Nottingham Forest beat Aston Villa 2-1 in the fourth Premier League round.
The match was action-packed from the start. Aston Villa's Lindelöf should have scored the opening goal, but the Swedish defender was denied twice by Sels after a corner kick (8').
However, the next big chance fell to Glasner's team. Nottingham combined quickly up front, and ultimately, Gibbs-White was denied by Suzuki from a tight angle (23').
Late Decisive Goal
Forest emerged stronger from the dressing room at Villa Park. Liam Delap scored an absolute dream goal in the 46th minute. From 25-30 meters, the striker took a shot and found the net.
In the 74th minute, it was Alysson. Following an assist from McGinn, the new signing headed in.
Then, Jesus scored the decisive late goal. In the 88th minute, he scored after an assist from Gibbs-White, setting the final score at 2-1.
Hull City Secures Draw Against Chelsea
The biggest surprise of the 4th matchday was Hull City's 2-2 draw against Chelsea FC. This temporarily puts the promoted side in third place in the Premier League.
The game started perfectly for the Londoners. New signing Rogers put the "Blues" ahead after an assist from Pedro (7').
Brace Turns the Game Around
However, Belloumi then turned the tide for the promoted side. In the 28th minute, he equalized after a lapse in the Chelsea defense.
Just six minutes later, he even scored the go-ahead goal, making it 2-1, in a similar fashion (34'). The game at Stamford Bridge was turned on its head!
However, Pedro was able to equalize again in the second half after an assist from Palmer (66'). The match ultimately ended in a 2-2 draw.
