Jaissle clearly loses coaching duel against Lampard
Matthias Jaissle suffers a clear defeat against Coventry City. They thus miss out on a temporary Champions League spot.
Matthias Jaissle and his team Newcastle United have to accept their second defeat of the season in the English Premier League.
In the end, Newcastle suffers a 1:4 away defeat to Coventry in the sixth round.
Against promoted side Coventry City, the team of the former Salzburg coach falls behind early. Rudoni gives the hosts a 1:0 lead in the sixth minute.
After the change of ends, Cherif makes it 2:0, before Botman pulls one back to 1:2. But Simms and Mfuni with their goals complete the ultimately clear 4:1 victory for the promoted side.
Second Defeat
Newcastle now ranks eleventh in the table, while Coventry City, coached by former England international Frank Lampard, sits in 14th place.
For Matthias Jaissle and his Tyrolean assistant Alex Hauser, it's the second setback after the loss against Leeds United.
