Affengruber and Fulham battle to a point against Jaissle's Newcastle

Fulham FC played out a 1-1 draw at home to Newcastle United on Matchday 10 of the Premier League.

This continues the upward trend for the "Cottagers", with Fulham now unbeaten in four league games.

As usual, David Affengruber played the full 90 minutes for the London side, putting in a solid performance at center-back. The Austrian international was powerless to prevent the opening goal.

Fulham denied by the woodwork

In a first half largely devoid of chances, Fulham came closer to breaking the deadlock.

Just when most were expecting a goalless draw, Newcastle's Jacob Murphy produced a moment of magic from distance, curling a magnificent effort into the top left corner (80').

However, Fulham managed an immediate equalizer. A cross from Palacios found its way through to Rodrigo Muniz, who was in the right place at the back post to seal the 1-1 final score (83').

After ten matchdays, the "Cottagers" sit on as many points in 15th place. Newcastle United, managed by Matthias Jaissle, have two more points to their name and lie 11th.

Arsenal grind out victory over promoted side

In the parallel fixture, reigning champions Arsenal ground out an unglamorous 1-0 victory over promoted Hull City. Martin Ödegaard scored the winner (72').

The "Gunners" now head into the international break comfortably top of the table.
