On Matchday 3 of the UEFA Champions League, Real Madrid wins 4-1 at home against RB Leipzig.

The hosts – Nicolas Seiwald is in the starting lineup, Christoph Baumgartner is back in the squad – start well and have the first chance. In the 28th minute, Romulo shoots, but Thibaut Courtois makes a strong save.

Subsequently, Real becomes increasingly dangerous. Leipzig goalkeeper Maarten Vandevoort is on hand against Vinicius Junior (29'), Jude Bellingham misses narrowly (40'). Vandevoort then saves against Arda Güler in the 44th minute, but Bernardo Silva converts the rebound to make it 1-0 (44'). Vandevoort again prevents a double blow before the break against Vinicius Junior.

"Baumi" with immediate Assist

After the break, Real remains on the offensive; Federico Valverde forces Vandevoort into another brilliant save (48'). The impending 2-0 goal comes in the 52nd minute. Bellingham has space, his cross reaches Kylian Mbappé – Arda Güler finally puts the ball into the net.

Just minutes later, Mbappé misses another goal for the "Royals" and only hits the side netting (55'). The Madrid side then have the game under control, with Leipzig rarely posing a threat.

Nevertheless, there's a highlight for the "Bulls": Austrian international Christoph Baumgartner is substituted in the 78th minute, celebrating his comeback after a bitter injury before the World Cup. And he immediately delivers an assist! In the 85th minute, he plays the ball with the outside of his foot to Tidiam Gomis, who beats Courtois to make it 3-1. Two minutes earlier, Mbappé had scored Real's third goal.

Yan Diamonde, however, adjusts the scoreline once more, scoring the 4-1 final against his former club with a beautiful volley.

In the standings, Real Madrid is in fourth place with the maximum number of points, while Leipzig is 30th with three points.
