Too Little Playing Time? Austria Talent Likely Facing Move Abroad
The offensive player is already missing from the squad in Salzburg.
Moritz Wels (21) is likely to leave Wiener Austria again this summer.
Two months ago, the offensive player had only just returned from his loan spell at WSG Tirol. As "Sky" reporter Johannes Brandl writes via "X", his departure is now imminent once again. Clubs from Germany and Scotland are reportedly showing interest.
No Bundesliga Minutes Since the Opener
Apparently, Wels wants more playing time. Although Stephan Helm has used the 21-year-old six times, the player primarily got minutes in the Conference League Qualifiers (149 minutes, 1x starting XI) and the UNIQA ÖFB Cup (90 minutes).
He also started in the 0-3 opening defeat. After that, Wels did not feature at all in the league.
Against Salzburg (in the LIVE ticker >>>), the nine-time U21 national player is now not even in the squad for the first time this season.
