Dropped? Sturm Claims to Handle Players "Honestly"
Emanuel Aiwu is allowed to train with SK Sturm's first team again – but this required the intervention of the players' union VdF.
SK Sturm Graz no longer plans with Emanuel Aiwu, Niklas Geyrhofer, and Amady Camara.
Therefore, the trio recently did not train with the first team of the Graz side, but was moved to the second team – Geyrhofer, however, is only training individually due to a knee injury anyway.
That was the case until recently: Aiwu called in the players' union VdF. This union secured the right for him and his colleagues to train with the first team again.
The VdF considered Sturm's actions to be bordering on bullying and discrimination >>>
Ingolitsch: "They receive the best possible support"
Meanwhile, Sturm coach Fabio Ingolitsch has also spoken out. "We deal honestly and transparently with the boys so that everyone knows what role they play," Ingolitsch is quoted by the "Kleine Zeitung".
Ingolitsch continued: "We openly communicated with them that we no longer plan with them. That's why we are striving for the boys to find something where they can play an important role in their sporting development."
"As long as they are with us, they receive the best possible support. Nothing untoward has ever happened; it is purely a sporting decision, and we all deal with it very professionally," the Sturm coach clarifies.
